The Legends & Heroes of Supercross Tour will honor
Texan Jeff Dement at the
Monster Energy Supercross in Houston!

April 3, 2014 – Manlius, NY:  As a mainstay of the Monster Energy Supercross series and Celebrating the 40th anniversary celebration of Supercross, the Legends and Heroes Tour moto museum display includes period champion machines and historical paraphernalia for all the fans to see.  Monster Energy Supercross’ round 14 in Houston will honor Texan Jeff Dement as he receives the Legends & Heroes Tour 40th Anniversary of Supercross award.

Jeff Dement got started racing at an early age.  By the time we was eight, you could find him flying around the track on his 50.  As an amateur, he won thirty-two national championship titles at well-known events such as Loretta Lynn’s, Ponca City, the World Mini Grand Prix, GNC International Finals and the Mini Olympics.  His title wins ranged from 50cc, 60cc, 80cc, 125cc and 250cc machines.

In 1991, Jeff began his career as a professional Supercross and Motocross racer.  He has placed in the top three numerous times during the AMA East Coast Lites Supercross series during main events.  During his rookie year in 1992, he placed 8th overall in the AMA East Coast Lites Supercross series and finished 3rd overall in the 1992 AMA East vs. West Lites Supercross Shootout main event in Dallas, Texas that same year.

The AMA Supercross class would see wins in heat races, semi's and LCQ's. Additionally, he has finished in the top ten during the AMA Supercross class main events numerous times.  Jeff also has experience racing in the 250cc pro class during many AMA Arenacross events, placing first many times.

Overseas for five years during the 1999 through 2004 racing seasons, Jeff competed in the FIM 125 World Motocross Championship GP Series in Europe, finishing second in four races in his first season.  While in Europe, he also competed in the Italian and the British Motocross Championship Series, placing well in the 125c pro class during both venues.  He also won the very first MX2 FIM World Motocross Championship podium for Honda, with their new Honda CRF 250 at the Belgium GP in 2004.  Jeff returned home to the states in 2005 to pick up where he left off, racing AMA Supercross and national motocross events.

Mr. Dement will be at the Legends and Heroes Moto Museum display at the Legends and Heroes Supercross Museum this Saturday for a met and greet with the fans.  Later in the day, Mr. Dement will be presented the Legends and Heroes 40th anniversary award on the Monster Energy Podium.
